Image within Signature in Dolibarr ERP/CRM

Dolibarr ERP/CRM doesn’t natively allow to use images in messages signatures unless they’re linked somewhere on the Internet, which can be seen as a downside. This article will show you how to have your images directly along your signatures.

Creating the signature

  1. In Thunderbird mail client, make sure messages are created in HTML format (account properties -> writing and adressing)
  2. Create and edit a new message adding text and image needed for your signature
  3. Save the message an an HTML file (and remember where you save it))

One your message saved as an HTML file, images will be base 64 encoded and therefore embedded into the message. This ensures you that the images will be displayed in any email client software and seen by your recipients.

Use with Thunderbird

In the email account properties, Select this file as your signature. It will be available for every new message.

Use with Dolibarr ERP/CRM

In Dolibarr ERP/CRM you’ll just need to copy the HTML file’s code into the required fields. For example, for an user’s signature, you have to edit the user’s file, switch the signature field in « source » mode, and copy-paste the HTML code, after you openned the HTML file in a text editor.
